Morning — Departure and snowshoe hike to Lake Ziegelhütte
Departure from the designated points by coach bound for Sappada – Plodn, a charming Alpine village listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and boasting a rich heritage of traditions, culture and wooden architecture. On arrival, snowshoe hire and meeting with the local instructors for a snow excursion through the stunning landscapes surrounding the village. The route will lead from the centre of Sappada to Ziegelhütte lake, a lovely artificial lake beyond the River Piave, along the Rio Storto, amid the fir forests of the Digola Forest and the slopes of Col dei Mughi. At the end of the snowshoe hike, return of the equipment and free time for lunch.
Afternoon — Sappada Vecchia and nativity scenes tour
In the afternoon, a guided walk to discover Old Sappada, from the Mühlbach hamlet to Cima Sappada. Along the way you can admire the characteristic traditional wooden houses, built using the typical Blockbau technique, a testament to Sappada's ancient culture. During the day you will also be able to admire the charming open-air nativity scenes, handcrafted by the locals and displayed in the various hamlets, which help to create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere. Around 16.30: departure for the return journey.
