EPIPHANY SNOWSHOE HIKE AND NATIVITY SCENES TOUR IN SAPPADA Wednesday 06 January 2027

Departure from the designated pick-up points by coach to Sappada – Plodn, a charming Alpine village listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy (Borghi più belli d’Italia) and renowned for its rich heritage of traditions, culture and wooden architecture.

On arrival, snowshoe hire and meeting with the local instructors for an excursion on the snow through the evocative landscapes surrounding the village. The route will lead from the centre of Sappada to the Ziegelhütte pond, a pretty artificial lake located beyond the River Piave, along the Rio Storto, amid the fir woods of the Bosco Digola and the slopes of the Col dei Mughi. At the end of the snowshoe hike, return of the equipment and free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, a guided walk to discover Old Sappada, from the hamlet of Mühlbach to Cima Sappada. Along the way you can admire the characteristic traditional wooden houses, built using the typical Blockbau technique, a testament to the ancient culture of Sappada.

During the day it will also be possible to admire the distinctive open-air nativity scenes, handcrafted by local residents and set up in the various hamlets, which help to create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere.

At approximately 16.30: departure for the return journey.
